According to recent statistics from Statistics Canada, British Columbia (B.C.) has exported 0.746 billion Canadian dollars timber to China in this past 8 months already, far more than the last whole year’s 0.687 billion Canadian dollars.

     B.C. is the biggest timber export province in Canada. As a result of order reduce from America and the demands increase from China, China overtook America and become the biggest wood import country fromCanada for the first time in July.

    Besides, the value of exports from B.C. to China this 8 months is 3.4 billion Canadian dollars, increases over 1 billion Canadian dollars than the same period of last year, growth is 42%. The total value of exports from Canada to China in 2010 is 4.3 billion Canadian dollars. It is reported that the B.C. Normach will be the heading of economic business group to visit China in this November and expected to further promote the bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Canada and China.
